"Arjun!!!" he heard a yell from inside and as soon as he started running he collided with Verma and while gathering stuff he heard him murmur everyone's favourite thing.

"The boss is calling you for a private meeting." he remarked winking at the last two words making Arjun fume out of his wits. He hated anyone pointing fingers at his character and more than that on her character!

"I heard that, it would be advisable if you didn't collide on purpose with me Mr. Vulgar Verma." his cheeky reply comes to shock Verma as Arjun never really lost his cool.

"I'm sorry Arjun." he said making a close escape as he didn't want to encounter a furious duel with the awakened lion.

"Let Maya ma'am deal with her man!" someone sniggered making Arjun knuckle his already tightened fist.

As he approached the cabin of the Managing Director of their company Ms. Maya Mehrotra, he was no longer nervous, it were just the fellow acquaintances who made him anxious. 


Arjun and his work was always top notch, he was the best employee and that's why Maya sought after him for any important work.

The fact that a tiny feeling had been awoken inside Arjun by his colleagues constant bickerings for his beautiful boss was not hidden. He however was just happy being her friend, the most cliche excuse of being a coward!

Arjun just needed a push to realize his feelings for her and that push was waiting in the cabin right then in the form of Vikram Singh Rana.

Vikram was Maya's best friend in school and the absolute genius in terms of business sense. Arjun moved inside the room only to see Vikram tucking Maya's hair off her face.

A pang arose in his heart and he coughed a bit to gain their attention. Maya straightened and looked ahead at him passing a smile ushering him in.

"Yes, yes Arjun come in. Meet Vikram, Viku as I lovingly call him! He's going to help us in the new project now onwards." told Maya smiling.

Arjun tried to maintain a calm composure, but failed miserably as he spilled the glass of water on the table due to his disturbed state.

"Hey Arjun, is everything alright? Are you feeling sick?" Vikram asked helpfully while he just shook his head, showing a hard exterior when inside he was just wanting to land a punch on his face.

"I think you need rest Arjun, come and sit here." Maya said, pulling him closer by his hand and making him relax on the sofa. With her eyes, she asked Vikram to leave for the time being and he complied.

Vikram leaving, gave Arjun a new found energy and he jumped up to his feet, but Maya was standing real close to the sofa and her leg tripped entangling with Arjun's shoes.

And in no time both of them were on the sofa with Arjun above her, she had her eyes closed in fear and he could do nothing but admire her.

A smile stretched on his face, it went on, turning wider every time he glanced at her face. It was so weird because he didn't even realize that in the 30 seconds her eyes were shut he felt the time was going super slow.

Maya's eyes fluttered open and her insides did somersaults for the first time as she saw him so close to her, he was looking irresistible to her. He was having a hard time controlling so he thought to get off her!

However, she stopped him and he stared at her, there were a thousand questions in his mind. Why did she stop him from going, did she also feel something for him, did she feel uncomfortable or did she feel comfortable?

He let all his confusions go for that time and hugged her tight. She was taken aback, but unable to hide her emotions she gave in as well.

 She had never really been this open about anything but her Beyhadh love for him was making it tough for her.  

 

As soon as the moment passed, Arjun got up and realizing the gravity of the situation Maya left without a word.

 

'Woah, what did I just do? Maya would be so angry at me. How could I lose myself like that!' Arjun said scolding himself hitting himself at his stupidity.

   

'Does Arjun like me? Wait, before that do I like him? Is there something between us?' Maya thought hard staring at a picture they had taken together in an office camp.

 

That camp brought with it some memories, most of which were exciting, but the last ones were disturbing.

FLASHBACK

  

"Saanjh, come on yaar. Maya is such a nice person, let's sing for her birthday, she'll feel happy!" Arjun quarrelled with his best friend Saanjh.

Maya peeped in, she felt so peaceful, just when he even suggested that. Someone cared for her and she knew at that moment that she never wanted to lose him.

 

Arjun paid no heed to Saanjh's denial mode and brought a guitar in order to sing for Maya, he didn't know why but he wanted to make her feel special.

Dabi dabi si hasi

He whistled moving around Maya, he was happy to see a smile lingering on her face.

  
As he started to sing her face had an altogether different glow on it. Arjun encircled her and got a bunch of kids to bring a set of flowers for her.

Kuch hai junoon sa

Kuch pagal pan hai

Sau baatein karta yeh

Buddhu sa mann hai (x2)

The kids roamed all around her jumping and dancing around throwing flowers on Maya.

She giggled after years and her smile reached to her face from her heart.

The day passed this way with Arjun enjoying with Maya and all the fellow workers. They all danced, laughed and had genuine fun after years. Maya had the best birthday ever all thanks to one man.

  

In the evening she approached him in his room to thank him when she saw Saanjh and Arjun arguing.

"Why do you care so much for her? She's just your boss. Arjun? Answer me!" Saanjh questioned stumping Arjun as he had absolutely no reply.

   

"Saanjh yaar, you know you're the most important to me. I can never keep anyone before you!" he had tried to keep the topic of why he did, what he did at bay.

Maya remembered almost getting her wrist cut by holding the door knob with extra force. She had not known what she felt that day, but looking back now it was all clear. 

 

Maya had been jealous, hell, she would still be.

"I love him, I am in love. I can't lose him, he's mine, no Saanjh can come in between and I won't let her get in between us. I'll tell him now and he will say he loves me too." She thought confidently and moved towards him.

"Maya!! Why did she hug me? Being with her is it right? Should I..possibly ask her out? Why was I so angry at her friend Vikram? Jealous much?!?" he asked himself playfully.

That was when his eyes fell upon Maya, who was approaching him. In the middle, she met with him again and Arjun just wanted to murder him.

"I'll go and just kill him now." He murmured in a low and growling voice.

 

"Hi people. I just needed to talk to Maya for a second!" Arjun spoke in a deep husky tone making Maya squirm.  

  

"Uh is it important because Maya is momentarily busy Arjun?" Vikram suggested but Arjun had had enough.

"I love her!! Is this minorly important?" he said in a firm tone turning sarcastic towards the end.

 
Maya had her eyes wide open while Vikram nudged her before bidding a goodbye to them.

"You love me?" She asked, surprised and still maintaining her hard side.

 

He moved closer to her face, kept one hand on either side blocking her way.

   

"You know you can stop pretending now!" Arjun whispered in her ears making her blush.

 
She admitted, "I guess I can!" He came forward to kiss her on her forehead.

 

Coming closer he placed a short kiss on her forehead and in between heard, "I love you Arjun, don't you dare leave me."  

 

"I'll always be there for you!" Arjun told her keeping a hand on her waist passing her a smile.

  

"Do you love me more than Saanjh?" Her query came making him shocked.

 

"Uhh..I..I..don't love her like I love you. But you leave that, let's go meet your mom!" He spoke and she had a frown.

 
"Why?" She asked, still not getting a reply to her question regarding Saanjh.  

 

"Aree to introduce her to her Son-In-Law" said Arjun teasing her and she passed him a small glare lovingly.

 

As they moved ahead, a girl was left wondering how her world crashed in a few minutes. Saanjh fought back her tears trying to be happy for Arjun.

Whereas Maya glanced at Arjun, he was talking animatedly but all she could think was Saanjh and how she was a barrier for her.

Maya ke liye sab kuch Beyhadh hai, chahe woh pyaar ho ya nafrat.
